AXEL CHRISTENSEN
Received an MBA from Stanford University and a degree in civil industrial engineering from the Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile. He has held the positions of: head of research at Citicorp Chile Stock Brokers; investment manager with the AFP (private pension fund) Cuprum; and partner with Moneda Asset Management. He is currently chief executive of Cruz del Sur Inversiones, a member of the boards of directors of AES Gener and Aguas Nuevas, an advisor to Innova Chile. He also collaborates with the entrepreneurial development foundation Endeavor.

GUILLERMO TAGLE
Received an MBA from the University of California in Los Angeles and a business degree from the la Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile. He has held the positions of dean of the School of Administration at the Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile and board member of AFP Bansander and of Santander Investment. He is currently a board member of the Chilean Electronic Stock Exchange and of the Central Securities Depository, and is executive director of IM Trust Stock Brokers and Financial Services.

MATÍAS LARRAÍN
Is an attorney with a master’s degree in constitutional law and public institutions from the Universidad Diego Portales, and a Master of Laws degree (LL.M) from Duke University. He has been legal council and cabinet chief of the Superintendency of Securities and Insurance and legal council to the Interior Ministry and to the Secretary General of the Presidency and has taught law at the Universidad Diego Portales. He is currently an advisor to the Finance Ministry.

IGNACIO ÁLVAREZ
Holds a master’s degree from the University of London School of Business and a business administration degree from the Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile. He also holds the globally recognized Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation. He has held upper management positions with Citigroup Chile and with the Companies de Seguros de Vida Santander. He is currently investment manager with AFP Cuprum and teaches in the areas of accounting, finance and investment at the Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile and the Universidad de Los Andes.
PATRICIO ARRAU
Received a Ph.D. in Economics from the University of Pennsylvania and a degree in business from the Universidad de Chile. He has worked as an economist and external consultant for the World Bank, as an external consultant for the Inter-American Development Bank, and as an advisor to the finance minister in financial matters. He was a board member and founding partner of the consulting firm Gerens Economia, Finanzas y Gestión. He is currently president of the Empresa Portuaria de San Antonio, and chief executive of Gerens Capital, an investment fund manager.
KATHLEEN C. BARCLAY
Holds a degree in foreign service from Georgetown University. She worked for 23 years at Chase Manhattan (currently JP Morgan Chase & Co.) and was president of the Association of American Chambers of Commerce in Latin America. She is a board member of the American Chamber of Commerce in Chile (AmCham) and editor of that organization’s magazine. She is currently president of Asesorías KCB, a strategic consulting firm specialized in business opportunities between the United States and Latin America.
GONZALO CORTÁZAR
Received a Ph.D. in Finance from the University of California in Los Angeles and a degree in civil industrial engineering from the Pontificia Universidad Católica. He has authored a number of studies on finance, economics and information systems. He is currently professor with the Department of Industrial Engineering and Systems at the Pontificia Universidad Católica and is also director of the university’s Advanced Research Laboratory for Finance.
JOSÉ MIGUEL CRUZ
Holds a Ph.D. in Management Science and Engineering from Stanford University and a master’s degree in industrial engineering from the Universidad de Chile. He is currently professor and director of the Management Center of the Department of Industrial Engineering of the Universidad de Chile. He also acts as a consultant to banking institutions and to private business. Mr. Cruz has taught courses in corporate finance and risk management, among others, and his works have been published in a number of journals.
JAIME DE LA BARRA
Holds an MBA from the Wharton School of Business of the University of Pennsylvania, and a business degree from the Pontificia Universidad Católica in Chile. He was vice president of corporate finance for Citicorp Chile and held a number of management positions with Grupo Santander Chile in the area of finance. He was a founding partner and president of Compass Group Chile, and is currently president of the Association of Chilean Pension Fund Administrators and executive director of Compass Consorcio Asset Management.
ALFREDO ERGAS
Holds an MBA from Trium Global -- an alliance between the University of New York, the University of London and HEC Paris -- and a business degree from the Universidad de Chile. He was chief executive of finance for the telecommunications company Smartcom and has held several management positions with the Enersis group. Currently he is regional chief executive of finance for Enersis and president of the ADR Committee of the Chilean American Chamber of Commerce (AmCham).
ALBERTO ETCHEGARAY
Is an attorney with a law degree from the Universidad Diego Portales and a master’s degree in public policy from Georgetown University. He was head of the Superintendency of Securities and Insurance (SVS), and has worked as an instructor in the area of economic regulations at the Law School of the Universidad Diego Portales and as a consultant to the Inter-American Development Bank. He is currently legal council with the law firm of Avendaño y Merino, and is general secretary of the Universidad Alberto Hurtado.
MARIO FARREN
Holds an MBA from the University of Chicago, and a business degree from the Universidad de Chile. He was chief executive of the Citibank brokerage office in Santiago and chief financial officer of Citigroup Chile. He is currently head of the Treasury Division of the Chilean Central Bank.
VIVIANA FERNÁNDEZ
Holds a Ph.D. in Economics from the University of California at Berkley, and a master’s degree in economics from the Pontificia Universidad Católica in Chile. She is currently professor with the Department of Industrial Engineering of the Universidad de Chile. She has also taught courses in the Department of Economics of the Universidad Católica de Chile, and has written articles on econometrics and finance.
RAÚL LABÁN
Holds a Ph.D. in Economics from MIT (Massachusetts Institute of Technology), and a master’s degree in economics from the Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile. He has acted as a consultant to the governments of Nicaragua and Paraguay, and to the Chilean Finance Ministry. He was a founding partner of the consulting firm Gerens Economía, Finanzas y Gestión, and director of Ventana-UC – the business incubator of the Pontificia Universidad Catolica de Chile. He has taught in Chile and other countries in the region and has written articles on capital flows and economic policy. He is currently a partner with the consulting firm Prospectus Ltda.
FRANCISCO MOZÓ
Received an MBA from the University of Chicago and a degree in business from the Universidad de Chile. He has worked as investment manager for Consorcio Nacional de Seguros de Vida, chief executive of finance and development of Banmédica, and chief executive of Principal Vida Chile. He is currently country head of Principal Financial Group Chile.

Holds an MBA from the Universidad Finis Terrae and an MBA from the international program of the Universidad Adolfo Ibáñez. He has held various positions in the area of business finance with the Grupo Santander. He was a member of the board of directors of the Chilean Electronic Stock Exchange and of the Chilean Central Securities Depository.
FRANCISCO MURILLO
Holds a business degree from the Universidad Adolfo Ibáñez. He has held different positions in the area of finance with Citibank and with Grupo Santander. He is professor at the Universidad de los Andes, a director of the Fundación Belén Educa and is currently president of Santander Asset Management Chile AGF.
DIEGO PERALTA
Is an attorney with a law degree from the Universidad de Chile. He was a prosecuting attorney for Citibank Chile, and belongs to the Chilean Bar Association and the Inter-American Federation of Lawyers. He currently works with the law firm Carey y Cía, where he is one of the partners in charge of the area of banking and finance. He has extensive experience in creating and structuring financing of all types, in both domestic and international markets.
ALBERTO PULIDO
Is an attorney with a law degree from the Universidad Católica de Chile who is specialized in the areas of corporate, finance and stock market law. He has taught postgraduate courses in project financing at the Universidad del Desarrollo. He was a partner and attorney with Pulido & Langlois, and in 2006 was chosen by Chambers & Partners as the most distinguished Chilean Lawyer in the area of finance. He is currently a partner with the law firm Philippi, Yrarrázaval, Pulido & Brunner.
TIM PURCELL
Graduated with honors in economics from Cornell University, and received a master’s degree in international studies from the University of Pennsylvania and an MBA from the Wharton School of Business. He has extensive experience in investment banking and in the investment area with JP Morgan, and was managing partner of JP Morgan Partners Latin America. He has served on the board of directors for a number of corporations and nonprofit organizations. He is currently managing partner and cofounder of Linzor Capital Partners, a private capital fund that invests in service, industrial, financial and retail companies in Latin America.
JOSÉ MANUEL SILVA
Holds a degree in economics from the Pontificia Universidad Católica in Chile and graduated from the upper corporate management program from the Universidad de los Andes. He has acted as finance manager for winemaker Santa Carolina, and as vice president of Citicorp and Bankers Trust. He was also director of research with the Larrain Vial brokerage. He is currently investment director with Larrain Vial AGF.
